Computer Class
My wife is willing to teach me to use the computer every day for a certain amount of time, but she doesn’t feel all the responsibility for teaching me should be on her shoulders because I’m so extraordinarily inept with machines. So she’s gotten me to take some computer classes. I took one at the public library recently, but there were too many people there. I didn’t get much out of it. But then I also took one at a senior center near my home last week, and that was a good one. There were only four students in the class plus a teacher and volunteer teacher. So you could always ask a question and they’d take you seriously. The ratio was right—one teacher for two students. And they asked us to introduce ourselves. When I mentioned my name, the volunteer teacher and one of the students recognized me and congratulated me on the file for which I offered my heartfelt thanks. Then I told the class I was incompetent mechanically and would probably have a hard time learning the computer. I hope they believed me. I hope they’ll have pity on me instead of saying, “This schmuck has a movie made about himself, but he can’t understand the first thing about computers. How can that be?”
