Promotional Tour I’m about to leave on my final promotion tour. I have mixed feelings. I’ve gotta do it, but I don’t like to be on the road traveling from city to city without a break for a couple of weeks or more. Well, this time I’ll at least get to see some people I haven’t seen in a long time, like my niece Myla, who I’ve just met once, and my nephew Jasper, who I’ve never seen at all. I hear they’re bright, energetic kids and I’ll be happy to catch up with them. Then there’s the outstanding cartoonist Spain Rodriguez, who I’ll meet at San Francisco’s comic museum. Plus certain employees at HBO, whom I’ve been on the phone with but never met. Most people would be happy to accomplish that, but, I dunno, I’m pretty much a stay at home guy. Getting to the airport on time, going through security, all that rinky dink stuff drives me nuts. On the other hand, the promotion tour helps sell the movie and may directly or indirectly put money in my pockets. So I’ll make that tour, and try not to bug people too much about what a drag it is. Money talks.
